How to apply for HEAT energy assistance (LIHEAP) — R6 Regional Council — Millard in Utah
R6 Regional Council (HEAT office for Juab, Millard, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier and Wayne counties)
Who it's for
HEAT (Home Energy Assistance Target) is Utah's version of the federal LIHEAP program. It helps low- and moderate-income households with heating bills through a one-time payment made to the utility company. A household may apply once each HEAT season (October 1 to September 30), no matter the type of heat: electric, gas, propane, oil, wood or coal. Renters whose utilities are included in the rent may also apply, with some limits. Households with an elderly or disabled member, or a child under 6, can apply starting October 1; the general public can apply from November 1, until federal LIHEAP funds run out. In Millard County, R6 Regional Council takes HEAT applications. Apply online and email your documents to hcap@r6.utah.gov, mail a paper application to 82 E 600 N, Richfield, UT 84701, or call your local HEAT office at 435-253-9000 for an appointment.
HEAT pays one benefit per program year and depends on funding; applications close when federal LIHEAP funds run out. The local HEAT office decides eligibility and the payment. Statewide income limits are on the Utah HEAT record (ut.state.heat).
