Summit County runs five property tax relief programs set by the State of Utah. The Homeowner Tax Credit is for low-income seniors 67 or older, or a surviving spouse, with 2025 household income up to $44,221. The Low Income Abatement is for low-income people 67 or older, people of any age with a disability, or people of any age in extreme financial hardship, with 2025 household income up to $53,065. One form covers both, and it is due September 1, 2026. Veterans with a VA disability rating of at least 10% can exempt up to $535,459 in taxable value. People 75 or older may defer their property taxes. There are also programs for people who are legally blind and active-duty military. For property tax questions, call the Treasurer's Office at 435-336-3038.
