Who it's for
Floyd County offers real estate tax relief (exemption) for homeowners who are 65 or older or permanently disabled. Total household income must be $50,000 or less, and net worth (not counting the home) must be $175,000 or less. Relief is capped at $200 off the real estate tax bill. Applications accepted January 1 - April 1 each year at the Commissioner of the Revenue's office. Apply through the local commissioner of the revenue or assessment office.
