Who it's for
City of Lexington offers real estate tax relief (exemption) for homeowners who are 65 or older or permanently disabled. Total household income must be $45,000 or less, and net worth (not counting the home) must be $100,000 or less. City Code section 366-4 as amended February 19, 2026. Applicants must own and occupy the home, be 65 or older or permanently disabled. Net worth excludes the fair market value of the dwelling. Applications due on or before December 5; call the Commissioner of the Revenue to be mailed an application. Apply through the local commissioner of the revenue or assessment office.
