Who it's for
Montgomery County offers real estate tax relief (exemption) for homeowners who are 65 or older or permanently disabled. Total household income must be $72,000 or less, and net worth (not counting the home) must be $210,000 or less. Relief ranges from 40 percent to 100 percent depending on total household income; covers real estate and mobile homes. Repeat applicants file by March 1; first-time applicants may file through Dec. 31. Apply through the local commissioner of the revenue or assessment office.
Limits shown are Montgomery County's current published figures; relief brackets, filing windows, and exclusions are set by local ordinance and the locality makes the final determination, so this shows as a may-qualify result.
