Who it's for
Virginia's Weatherization Assistance Program makes home energy-saving repairs at no cost to income-eligible households — insulation, air sealing, and heating-system work that lowers utility bills. Annual household income must be $44,776 or less for one person or $58,554 for two (effective July 1, 2026). Priority goes to households with elderly members or people with disabilities. Households receiving SSI or TANF cash assistance qualify automatically. Apply through the local weatherization provider agency for the area — DHCD itself does not take applications.
