Total household income must be $59,650 or less, and net worth (not counting the home) must be $220,000 or less. Tiered exemption: 100% for one-owner income $26,100 and under (capped at $3,130), 50% for $26,101-$37,300 (capped $1,560), 25% for $37,301-$59,650 (capped $780); two-owner brackets run to $68,200. Income limit is $59,650 for one owner ($69,650 if permanently disabled); two-owner limit $68,200 (up to $88,200 if both disabled). Applications requested by April 1, required by December 31 annually. Apply through the local commissioner of the revenue or assessment office.
