Who it's for
Tampa General Hospital in Tampa helps uninsured and underinsured patients pay hospital bills. If your household income is up to 300% of the federal poverty level, you are not billed (charity care). Charity approval lasts six months. If your non-elective hospital charges are more than 25% of your yearly household income, you are also not billed. Uninsured patients who do not qualify may get a 65% discount on hospital charges. Assets and medical bills are also considered. Some services are not covered, such as cosmetic procedures and balances owed by Medicare, Medicaid or other insurance. Fill out the hospital's application for assistance. Not covered: cosmetic care, balances owed by other insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, auto, workers' comp), transplants, ventricular assist devices, bariatric programs, and elective care for people who live outside Hillsborough County.
