Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS Transit (RideKC)
Who it's for
RideKC Freedom is a paratransit service run by Unified Government Transit for trips within Wyandotte County. ADA paratransit gives door-to-door rides to people whose disability keeps them from using regular buses. Non-ADA paratransit is for adults 65 or older who need help getting to places like medical appointments, grocery stores or community centers. Both need an application and approval first; you can apply online and must send a photo with the application. Service runs Monday to Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. On regional RideKC buses, adults 65 and older, Medicare cardholders and people with disabilities may get free or reduced fares ($1 a ride or $2 a day) after applying to the regional free and reduced fare program. Call 913-573-8351.
Service areas, hours, and fares are set by the transit provider; call ahead to schedule and ask about senior or disability fares.
