How to apply for Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) Home Repair Program (Kentucky Housing Corporation)

Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), Kentucky Affordable Housing Trust Fund — applications taken by local partner agencies

Who it's for

This program pays for essential repairs that keep a low-income homeowner's house safe and livable, such as structural repairs, roofing, heating and plumbing. When someone in the household has a disability, accessibility changes can also be covered. It is open anywhere in Kentucky to homeowners whose household income is at or below 60% of the area median and whose other assets are worth $50,000 or less. The home must be a single-family or manufactured home that is your main residence. Up to $25,000 per home is given as a grant, secured by a five-year deed restriction. You do not apply to KHC directly: apply through the KHC partner agency that serves your county (use KHC's 'Find Your Local Developer' link).

Household income must be at or below 60% of the area median income, which depends on your county and household size; the local partner agency checks this. Funding goes through partner agencies that serve specific counties, so availability depends on where you live.
