How to apply for Adult Brain Injury Program in Missouri

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) — Special Health Care Needs, through regional Adult Brain Injury Service Coordinators

Who it's for

The Adult Brain Injury Program helps Missouri residents ages 21 to 65 who live with a traumatic brain injury. Every participant gets a service coordinator, whatever their income. The coordinator assesses needs, builds a service plan, and helps find medical care, housing, counseling, transportation, job training and other resources. People who also meet the program's income guidelines may get rehabilitation services, such as a neuropsychological evaluation, home and community support training, pre-job training and supported employment. There is no fee to apply. Contact the Adult Brain Injury Service Coordinator for your region, or call Special Health Care Needs at 573-751-6246.

The program is for a traumatic brain injury, and the program reviews medical records to confirm it. Service coordination has no income test, but rehabilitation services are only for people under the program's income guidelines. Contact your regional service coordinator to start.
