Orange County Department of Planning — Transit Orange, the county public transit program; local bus operated under contract by Coach USA / Hudson Transit Lines (Middletown, Main Line), Leprechaun Lines (Newburgh) and the Village of Kiryas Joel; ADA paratransit operated by Ride Right, LLC
Who it's for
Transit Orange is Orange County's public transit program: fixed-route local bus in and around Middletown, Newburgh and the Village of Kiryas Joel, the Main Line between Middletown and Harriman, town Dial-A-Ride services, and ADA paratransit within 3/4 mile of local routes. Senior fare is half the regular fare: $0.75 (regular $1.50) on Middletown and Newburgh local buses and inside Kiryas Joel, $1.00-$2.50 on the Main Line; the Kiryas Joel fare table sets senior at age 60+. Medicare cardholders also pay the reduced fare. ADA paratransit is $0.75 one-way and requires an Orange County ADA Paratransit ID card (apply through the Department of Planning). Metro-North and NJ Transit rail connections have their own reduced-fare rules. Phone: 845-615-3850.
Orange: Transit Orange local bus + ADA paratransit. The Kiryas Joel local-bus fare table defines senior as 60+; Middletown and Newburgh list a 'Senior & Medicare' half fare without an age, and some town Dial-A-Ride services use 65+. Metro-North Reduced-Fare for NYC-bound rail is governed by separate MTA rules.
