How to apply for Property tax relief (Davis County Tax Administration) — Davis in Utah
Davis County Tax Administration
Who it's for
Davis County Tax Administration handles low-income property tax relief. The Circuit Breaker Abatement is for low-income homeowners age 67 or older by December 31, or low-income widows and widowers. You must own the home as of January 1 and it must be your primary residence. Low-income homeowners under 67 who are not widowed can apply for the Indigent (Hardship) and Disability Abatement. You must send proof of income for everyone in the household, such as a full 2025 federal tax return or W-2, 1099-R and 1099-SSA forms. Applications are due by September 1, 2026; a late application needs a written reason. To get an application, call Tax Administration at 801-451-3331 or 801-451-3543, or email taxadmin@daviscountyutah.gov.
The county decides eligibility and the amount of relief under Utah law. Most programs need a new application every year.
