How to apply for SamTrans Senior Reduced Fare (San Mateo County)

Who it's for

SamTrans is the public bus system serving San Mateo County. Riders 65 and older qualify for the SamTrans Eligible Discount fare on cash, Senior Clipper card, and the free SamTrans Mobile ticketing app. The Local/Express Eligible Discount Pass is $27/month for unlimited rides on any Local or Express SamTrans route. The Senior Clipper card is free to obtain — apply on the Clipper website, by mail/email/fax with proof of age, or in person at the San Mateo County Transit District Administrative office in San Carlos or at other Clipper locations.
