How to apply for Broomfield Utility Rate Assistance Fund (water bill help) in Colorado
City and County of Broomfield — Housing Division
Who it's for
Broomfield's Utility Rate Assistance Fund helps lower-income households with the cost of water service. Households with income at or below 60% of area median income can get $17 to $20 a month back, up to $204 to $240 a year depending on the type of home. Renters and owners both qualify, including people in apartments, condos, townhomes and mobile homes. If you pay the city for water, the help is a credit on your bill each quarter; if your landlord or HOA pays it, you get a check each quarter. You must apply each year; the 2026 deadline is Friday, October 30, at 5 p.m. For help, call 983-888-4570 or email URAF@broomfield.org.
Only household income is checked. The screen uses the one-person 60% limit ($58,860); bigger households have higher limits. You must live in Broomfield and apply each program year. Broomfield makes the final decision.
