How to apply for Broomfield Partial Property Tax Refund (PPTR) for seniors, disabled veterans and residents with disabilities in Colorado

City and County of Broomfield

Who it's for

Broomfield's Partial Property Tax Refund gives back part of the rise in property taxes since 2021, up to $1,000 a year. It is for Broomfield homeowners who live in the home as their main home, paid both their 2021 and 2025 property taxes, and have household income at or below 80% of area median income. You must also be in one of these groups: age 65 or older by July 1, 2026; a veteran with at least an 80% disability; a resident with a 100% disability; or the surviving spouse of one of these. Households at or below 60% of area median income get the full rise in taxes back, up to $1,000. Households between 61% and 80% get back the city, county and school district share of the rise. If your taxes did not go up since 2021, there is no refund. Apply online; for help call 303-438-6350 or email propertytaxrefund@broomfield.org.

Veterans need at least an 80% disability rating and other residents need a 100% documented disability; surviving spouses of people in these groups also qualify. The screen uses the one-person 80% income limit ($78,480); bigger households have higher limits. The refund is only the rise in taxes since 2021, so it can be small or nothing. Broomfield makes the final decision.
