How to apply for Palm Tran Connection ADA Paratransit

Palm Tran Connection (Palm Beach County's ADA paratransit service)

Who it's for

Palm Tran Connection is Palm Beach County's ADA-mandated shared-ride paratransit service for riders whose disability prevents them from using fixed-route Palm Tran buses. As of January 18, 2026, Connection runs as two paired programs following an April 2025 Palm Beach BCC restructuring: Connection ADA provides door-to-door rides within the ¾-mile ADA service buffer around Palm Tran's fixed-route network (the federally mandated minimum); Connection Plus serves eligible customers whose trip origin or destination falls outside that ¾-mile area — a county-funded extension beyond ADA requirements. Both require an in-person eligibility determination through Palm Tran's existing certification procedure (a disability that functionally prevents fixed-route use; supporting medical documentation; in-person assessment). The standard fare is $4.00 per one-way trip; riders who qualify for a fare subsidy pay $3.50. Apply or ask questions through Palm Tran Connection Customer Service at 561-649-9838, Option 6.

Connection eligibility is decided by an in-person functional assessment — not by diagnosis or age alone. This scan can tell you that you appear functionally eligible to apply, but the final determination requires (1) the completed application, (2) medical documentation, (3) the in-person assessment, and (4) a written eligibility determination from Palm Tran. As of January 18, 2026, two programs share the eligibility process: Connection ADA (within the ¾-mile fixed-route buffer) and Connection Plus (outside that area — the county-funded extension). Apply through 561-649-9838 Option 6.
