Who it's for

Putnam County's senior nutrition services are coordinated through the Elder Options (Aging Resources, Inc.) PSA 3 network with multi-agency local delivery. The Putnam County Council on Aging provides services to seniors age 60+ including Aging in Place home assessments, chore services, fall prevention classes, telephone reassurance, medical equipment loan closet, and educational workshops. The Edgar Johnson Senior Center (1215 Westover Drive, Palatka) — operated by the Putnam County Parks and Recreation Department and serving as the county's only designated senior center — hosts the congregate meals program and senior lunch sessions. Easterseals Northeast Central Florida assumed responsibility for home-delivered Meals on Wheels in Putnam County on October 1 and currently delivers approximately 55 meal packages per week to homebound seniors. Eligibility is age 60+ and Putnam County residency for congregate meals; home-delivered Meals on Wheels additionally require documented homebound status. Apply by calling the Elder Helpline at 1-800-262-2243 (PSA 3 statewide), the Putnam County Council on Aging, or the Edgar Johnson Senior Center at 386-329-0469 for a needs assessment.

Putnam County senior nutrition services are coordinated through Elder Options (PSA 3 AAA) with multi-agency local delivery: Putnam County Council on Aging for service intake + support services, Edgar Johnson Senior Center for congregate dining, and Easterseals Northeast Central Florida for home-delivered Meals on Wheels. Congregate meals at the Edgar Johnson Senior Center require age 60+ and Putnam residency. Home-delivered Meals on Wheels through Easterseals requires documented homebound status and has limited capacity (~55 packages per week countywide as of October launch) — waitlists may apply. Call the Elder Helpline at 1-800-262-2243 or the Edgar Johnson Senior Center at 386-329-0469 to start. The Edgar Johnson Senior Center is Putnam County's ONLY designated senior center, so geographic access to in-person services is concentrated in Palatka. The Ride Solution provides paratransit to the senior center for non-Palatka Putnam County residents.
