How to apply for Atlanta Gas Light and Liberty Utilities Senior Discount in Georgia
Atlanta Gas Light (regulated by the Georgia Public Service Commission); Liberty Utilities
Who it's for
If your natural gas is delivered by Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) or Liberty Utilities, you may get a senior discount on your gas bill. You must be 65 or older, live at the address, and have the gas account in your own name. Household income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty guideline for one person. For AGL, the discount takes up to $14 a month off AGL's base delivery charge. For Liberty, the monthly customer charge is waived. To apply for AGL, mail the AGL Senior Discount Application with a copy of your ID and proof of income. Questions about the AGL form: call AGL Customer Care at 800-427-5463. Liberty customers should call Liberty to enroll.
Only for homes whose gas is delivered by Atlanta Gas Light or Liberty Utilities. The gas account must be in the senior's name. The AGL discount covers the AGL base charge (up to $14 a month), not the gas marketer's charges. The printed AGL form may show an older income figure; the Public Service Commission sets the limit at 200% of the one-person federal poverty guideline.
