City of Alexandria Transit (ATRANS)
Who it's for
ATRANS runs fixed-route buses in Alexandria and Pineville, 6:10 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The regular fare is $0.75; older adults, people with disabilities, and Medicare card holders pay $0.35. ATRANS paratransit serves people who cannot use the buses because of a disability; riders must apply and book 24 hours ahead. Call 318-441-6021. In rural Rapides Parish, Rapides Senior Citizens Centers runs rides to meal sites, medical appointments, and shopping (call 318-487-1561).
