How to apply for Public Demand-Response Rides (OATS Transit) — Randolph in Missouri

Who it's for

OATS Transit is a shared-ride, demand-response service covering 87 rural Missouri counties, including Randolph. Reservations are taken 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, and next-day rides must be booked by 1:00 pm. Randolph County routes: Moberly In-Town within the city limits, Monday to Friday; county service into Moberly on Wednesdays; and an InterCity run along Hwy 63 to Columbia on TUESDAYS only ($10.00 round trip, appointments 10am-2pm), picking up at Clark (New Hope Church, 5 miles east of 63) and Moberly (Jct 63 & 24 Break Time). Standard fares are $2.00 in-town and $3.00 for county service — but seniors aged 60 and over and riders with a disability travelling under the Area Agency on Aging contract have NO set fare and are simply asked to contribute a minimum amount. Drivers cannot take payment on the bus: add funds to your rider account beforehand by card, personal cheque, money order or cashier's cheque ($10 minimum when adding by phone). OATS is open to riders of any age — the county page says it is 'available to anyone regardless of age, income, disability, race, gender, religion, or national origin'. Fares are listed above, but riders age 60 and older — and riders with disabilities — who travel under the Area Agency on Aging contract do not pay a set fare. They are asked to contribute what they can instead. Ask about the AAA contract when you book. Call ahead, as rides are scheduled in advance.
