How to apply for WSTA Half-Fare and Trans-AID Paratransit (Forsyth County)

Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA), the public bus system for Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, plus its Trans-AID ADA paratransit service.

Who it's for

Forsyth County residents who are age 60 or older or who have a disability can ride for less. WSTA's Half Fare Program gives seniors 60 and older, Medicare cardholders, and people with disabilities half-price fares on the fixed-route bus with a free WSTA ID card. Riders who cannot use the fixed-route bus because of a disability can use Trans-AID, a door-to-door shared ride that meets ADA requirements. Call WSTA to request a half-fare application or Trans-AID eligibility.

Forsyth: WSTA half fare requires a free WSTA ID card; Trans-AID paratransit requires an approved eligibility application.

What you'll need

  • Proof of age 60+, Medicare card, or disability (for the Half Fare ID card)
  • For Trans-AID: completed ADA eligibility application
  • Proof of Forsyth County residency
