How to apply for AppalCART — Senior & Paratransit Service (Watauga County)

Watauga County Public Transportation (AppalCART)

Who it's for

AppalCART is the public transit system for Watauga County. Through a partnership with the county Project on Aging, adults age 60 and over can ride rural routes at no charge on set days each week. Wheelchair-accessible paratransit serves riders who cannot use the fixed routes and is fare-free with an eligibility process. New senior riders register through the L.E. Harrill Senior Center; call dispatch at 828-297-1300 to plan a ride.

Fare-free senior rides run on set days through Project on Aging; paratransit requires an eligibility review. Schedules and rules are set by AppalCART and can change. Not legal or financial advice.

What you'll need
