How to apply for ETHRA Public Transit Rural Van Service (Grainger County)
East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (ETHRA) Public Transit, the regional public transportation provider for rural East Tennessee, serving Grainger County.
Who it's for
ETHRA Public Transit runs door-to-door, demand-response vans across Grainger County and the wider East Tennessee region. The service meets Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and is open to the general public, with priority help for older adults and riders with a disability getting to medical visits, shopping, senior centers, and other trips. Rides are shared and must be booked ahead, so call at least three business days before the trip to reserve a seat.
Grainger: ETHRA Public Transit is demand-response (call ahead to schedule); base fare is a flat per-trip charge each way with extra charges per county line crossed. A senior reduced-fare age is not published, so 65 is used as a conservative default; ADA riders are served regardless of age.
What you'll need
- Proof of Grainger County residency
- For ADA/disability service: disability documentation
- Advance trip reservation (at least 3 business days)
