How to apply for Paris Metro — Free Senior Fixed-Route Bus (Lamar County) in Texas
Paris Metro, operated by the Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG)
Who it's for
Riders age 60 and over ride the Paris Metro city bus free. So do people with disabilities. Everyone else pays 50 cents a ride or $30 a month. Buses run around the City of Paris weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. To ride free you need an ID card, which the Paris Metro/TRAX office at 1610 Clarksville St issues when you bring proof of your age or disability. If you cannot use the regular bus because of a physical or mental condition, ATCOG also runs door-to-door ADA paratransit at $1.00 a trip — that one needs a referral from your doctor.
The free fare is on the fixed-route city bus inside Paris only, on weekdays 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with no service on public holidays. You must carry the ID card the Paris Metro/TRAX office issues. ADA paratransit is a separate service, still costs $1.00 a trip, and requires a physician referral and ADA eligibility.
