How to apply for Utah Home and Community Based Alternatives Program: in-home help for older adults (non-Medicaid)
Utah Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS), through local Area Agencies on Aging
Who it's for
The Home and Community Based Alternatives Program is for low-income aging adults who need in-home services planned around their needs, to help them stay in their own home and keep their independence. It is run through local Area Agencies on Aging and is separate from Medicaid. Contact your local Area Agency on Aging to ask about an assessment, or call the Division of Aging and Adult Services at 801-538-3910.
The program is for low-income older adults who need in-home help, but the DAAS page does not list an age or income limit; the local Area Agency on Aging decides who qualifies, what services are offered, and any cost share. Funding is limited, so there may be a wait.
