How to apply for Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park (Bluffdale): free burial for veterans

Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs (UDVMA)

Who it's for

The Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park is a state-run cemetery at 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale. It is a burial ground for veterans, their spouses, and dependent children. There are no fees for a veteran's burial; there is a small fee for burying an eligible veteran's spouse or dependent child. Options include in-ground urn burial, niches in a granite columbarium, and a Memorial Garden for scattering ashes. To arrange a burial, choose any funeral home or mortuary and bring the veteran's DD-214 or other military discharge papers; the mortuary sends the DD-214 to the cemetery and reserves a date for the service. You can also call the cemetery at 801-254-9036. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Burial for the veteran is free, but there is a small fee for a spouse or dependent child; ask the cemetery office for details. Funeral home costs are separate. The cemetery confirms eligibility.
