How to apply for Union County Transportation for Older Adults and People with Disabilities (Union County) in North Carolina
Union County Transportation
Who it's for
Union County Transportation is the county's only public transit. It provides scheduled, curb-to-curb rides for all Union County residents age 16 and older, with special grant funding for seniors age 60 and older, adults with disabilities, Medicaid passengers and veterans. Many trip costs are covered by grant or county funds; riders may pay $2 for a one-way trip inside the county, and agency-sponsored clients ride free. Rides are by reservation, Monday through Friday, and must be booked at least 48 business hours ahead. Vehicles are wheelchair accessible, and the service can adjust its procedures to accommodate a rider's disability. Call to set up service.
Union: Union County Transportation serves residents by reservation at low or no cost; fares depend on the trip and funding source.
