How to apply for Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP) — Oregon

Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) Aging and People with Disabilities, through local Area Agencies on Aging (Older Americans Act Title III-E National Family Caregiver Support Program)

Who it's for

The Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP) helps grandparents and other relatives age 55 or older who are raising a child 18 or younger because the parents are not there. It also helps a parent or older relative age 55 or older who lives with and cares for an adult with disabilities. Services are free and vary by area. They can include counseling, caregiver training, support groups, help finding respite, case management, and limited extra help such as legal help, transportation, home changes, or equipment. Call the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) at 1-855-673-2372 to find the program in your county.

This program is for an older relative raising a child (or a parent or older relative age 55+ caring for an adult with disabilities at home), not for most caregivers of an older adult. Services and limits differ by Area Agency on Aging. The local agency decides who qualifies.
