How to apply for Amarillo City Transit (ACT) + ACT-Connect Paratransit + Panhandle Transit Rural (Randall County) in Texas

Amarillo City Transit (ACT) — the City of Amarillo's urban transit district, operating fixed-route bus + ACT-Connect ADA paratransit within Amarillo city limits west of Lakeside Drive; supplemented by Panhandle Transit (operated by Panhandle Community Services) for RURAL areas of Potter and Randall

Who it's for

Randall County has two public transit operators. Amarillo City Transit (ACT) runs fixed-route buses and ACT-Connect paratransit in Amarillo. Riders 65 and older pay the reduced fare on ACT fixed routes: show a photo ID or Medicare card, or get a blue-striped Reduced Fare ID card at the ACT office, 509 S Bowie St, Amarillo (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.). A Day Pass costs $2.00 for unlimited rides that day. ACT-Connect gives day-by-day local rides to people with disabilities who are certified with ACT. Call ACT at 806-378-3095. In rural Randall County, Panhandle Transit, run by Panhandle Community Services, offers curb-to-curb rides that anyone can use; call 800-800-6162 at least 24 hours ahead. PanhandleRides.com lists both operators.

Amarillo metro (Randall + the other Potter/Randall portion) has the most comprehensive transit infrastructure in the Panhandle. Urban residents use ACT; rural residents use Panhandle Transit (PCS).
