West Central Texas Regional Foundation (WCTRF), the 501(c)(3) foundation of the West Central Texas Council of Governments — a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs SSVF grantee serving 25 West Central Texas counties
Who it's for
SSVF helps very low-income veteran families in Throckmorton County who are about to lose their housing or have recently become homeless. A case manager makes a housing stability plan with you, helps you get other benefits, and connects you with community services. Depending on eligibility, it can give limited temporary help with rent, utilities, deposits, child care, bus fares and emergency supplies. Call 1-800-928-2262.
You must be part of a very low-income veteran family AND either living in your home at risk of eviction, homeless and moving into housing within 90 days, or homeless within the past 90 days. Help is short-term and limited, depends on program eligibility and grant funding, and is not ongoing rent support. Under VA SSVF rules, 'very low income' means below 50% of the area median income for your county and household size.
