How to apply for Emergency Home Repair Program (City of Fredericksburg) — Fredericksburg City in Virginia
City of Fredericksburg Community Planning and Building Department, Planning Services Division (funded through the City's Community Development Block Grant)
Who it's for
The City of Fredericksburg helps low-income homeowners pay for emergency roof, plumbing and electrical repairs. The home must be inside the City limits (ZIP code 22401) and the owner must live there. Household income must be at or below 50 percent of the area median income for the household's size. Help comes as a forgivable loan of up to $10,000 per home, forgiven over five years while the owner keeps living in the home. Applications are taken first come, first served as funding allows, and there may be a waiting list. Call the Planning Services Division at 540-372-1179 to ask for an application.
Household income must be at or below 50 percent of area median income (HUD Section 8 limits), which this check does not screen. The City inspects the home and decides whether the repair is an emergency, and projects are funded as money allows. Not legal or financial advice.
