How to apply for FAX Handy Ride (ADA Paratransit, Fresno)
City of Fresno Department of Transportation (Fresno Area Express)
Who it's for
FAX Handy Ride is the ADA complementary paratransit service for Fresno Area Express, providing shared, curb-to-curb rides anywhere in the FAX service area for eligible people with disabilities who cannot functionally use the regular FAX City bus system. Handy Ride operates during the same hours and days as FAX fixed-route service. Eligibility is functional, not age-based: you must submit a completed Handy Ride application AND a Professional Verification Form completed by a qualified medical professional familiar with your condition. To request an application or get more information, call (559) 621-RIDE (7433) or (559) 621-5796 (Handy Ride direct), or California Relay at 711 for TTY. Submit completed applications by mail, fax, or in person to Fresno Area Express, 2223 G Street, Fresno, CA 93706.
Handy Ride eligibility is functional (cannot use regular FAX City bus service due to a disability) and requires a completed Handy Ride application plus a Professional Verification Form from a qualified medical professional — the scan cannot perform that evaluation. To start, call 1-559-621-RIDE (7433) or 1-559-621-5796 (Handy Ride direct).
