St. Lucie County's senior nutrition services are coordinated through Planning and Service Area 9 — the five-county Palm Beach / Treasure Coast region that also includes Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and Palm Beach counties. The PSA 9 Area Agency on Aging (also known as Your Aging Resource Center) administers Older Americans Act Title III funding through local providers. For St. Lucie residents, congregate dining is available at senior centers across Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, and St. Lucie Village, and home-delivered Meals on Wheels serves seniors who cannot prepare meals or attend a congregate site. The St. Lucie County Community Services Human Services Division at 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, is the local intake point — it also runs SHINE Medicare counseling, CCE/HCE/ADI screenings, and other senior services. Eligibility is age 60+ and St. Lucie residency for congregate meals; home-delivered additionally requires functional documentation of homebound status. There is no income or asset test for OAA services, but participants are offered the option to contribute voluntarily based on means; no one is denied for inability to pay.
