Who it's for
Louisiana SenioRx helps people get free or low-cost prescription medicines through drug makers' patient assistance programs. A counselor at your regional Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) helps you find programs for your medicines and apply. You can qualify if you are 60 or older, or 21 or older with an adult-onset disability, and your gross income is not more than 300% of the federal poverty guidelines. You also must not have voluntarily dropped a prescription drug plan in the 6 months before you apply. Apply through your ADRC, or call the Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs at 225-342-7100.
The ADRC counselor checks income and current drug coverage, and medicines come from drug company assistance programs — not every drug is available. Each drug maker makes the final decision.
