How to apply for Cherokee County Transit — Senior & ADA Reduced Fare (Cherokee County)

Cherokee County Transit — the county's NCDOT-funded community transportation system, providing door-to-door demand-response rides to medical appointments, senior centers, shopping, pharmacies, and other destinations in Murphy, Andrews, Marble, and Peachtree.

Who it's for

Riders age 60 and over, veterans, and Medicare/Medicaid cardholders ride Cherokee County Transit at a reduced rate (about $1 per trip for up to five miles). Riders with disabilities are served by wheelchair-accessible vans. This is a door-to-door, demand-response service — give at least one day's notice. Call 828-837-1789 to schedule.

Reduced senior fares are available; call to confirm the current fare and to schedule a ride (most rides are demand-response and need advance notice).

What you'll need

  • Proof of age 60 or over, veteran status, or Medicare/Medicaid card for reduced fare
  • Proof of Cherokee County residency
