Apple Country Public Transit runs three bus routes plus door-to-door paratransit in Hendersonville, Fletcher, and Laurel Park. All routes and paratransit trips are free — there is no fare for anyone, and no age or disability requirement to ride. Buses run 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, from the Transfer Station at 4th and Grove Street in downtown Hendersonville. Henderson County contracts with WNCSource (formerly WCCA) to operate the service, and a rider app shows buses in real time.
Apple Country Public Transit is fare-free for every rider, so there is nothing to apply for. Two things to know: the routes cover Hendersonville, Fletcher, and Laurel Park rather than all of Henderson County, and door-to-door paratransit is arranged by calling WNCSource rather than by boarding a route. Call 828-698-8571 to check whether your address is in the service area. The county sets fares and can change them.
