How to apply for Oklahoma caregiver supports and respite through Oklahoma Human Services and Area Agencies on Aging
Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) Community Living, Aging and Protective Services, through the Area Agencies on Aging
Who it's for
Oklahoma Human Services offers support for unpaid family caregivers and for grandparents and other relatives raising children. If you are helping someone age 60 or older, your local Area Agency on Aging (AAA) can help with a break from caregiving (respite), home-delivered meals, legal services resources, home maintenance, or other local help. Grandparents and other relatives age 55 or older who are raising a child can also get respite and other local help from the AAA. If the person you care for is 59 or younger, or you are 54 or younger and raising a child, Sooner Success can help with respite. Call the Oklahoma Human Services Info Line at 1-800-211-2116 to find your Area Agency on Aging.
Services depend on local funding and may have waiting lists or their own rules. Your Area Agency on Aging decides what help is available in your area.
