How to apply for Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) — the Philadelphia AAA
Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) — Philadelphia's designated Area Agency on Aging under the Older Americans Act Title III; the 4th largest AAA in the United States and the largest in Pennsylvania; founded 1973
Who it's for
PCA serves Philadelphia seniors age 60+ and their caregivers as one of the largest urban AAAs in the country. PCA funds 28 senior community centers and satellite meal sites across Philadelphia neighborhoods. Services include: Home-Delivered Meals, Congregate Meals, Home Care (PCA In-Home Support), Care Management for at-risk seniors, Protective Services (elder abuse investigations), Caregiver Support, Senior Companion Program, APPRISE Medicare counseling (PA's SHIP), Long-Term Care Ombudsman, and the Philadelphia Helpline. Apply by calling PCA Helpline at 215-765-9040.
PCA is the 4th-largest AAA in the US and the largest in PA — unusually well-resourced. Senior center membership is largely income-blind for social/meals/programs side.
