Who it's for
LIHEAP helps income-eligible Washington households pay home heating bills, with emergency help for shut-offs. For the current program year, average monthly income must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines — $1,956 for one person or $2,644 for two. Households apply once each program year (October 1 through September 30) through the local community action agency serving their county; the grant amount depends on household size, income, and heating costs.
LIHEAP runs once per program year through the local community action agency while funds last, and the agency applies income deductions and exclusions when it determines eligibility — so this shows as a may-qualify result.
