How to apply for Sage Stage Senior Reduced Fare in California
Modoc Transportation Agency (Sage Stage)
Who it's for
Modoc Transportation Agency (Sage Stage) provides public transit service for Modoc County. Riders age 60 and older pay the discount fare, which Sage Stage also offers to children 12 and under riding with a fare-paying adult and to passengers with disabilities. On intercity routes the discount fare runs about $1 to $9 less per one-way trip than the general fare (for example, Alturas to Reno is $27 discount vs. $36 general). Bring proof of age when boarding. Sage Stage provides local service in Alturas plus intercity service to Reno NV, Klamath Falls OR, and Redding CA (the Redding route is temporarily suspended) — the only public transit for one of the most rural counties in California. Senior eligibility starts at age 60 (earlier than the typical 65). For reservations and fare questions, call 530-233-6410.
