How to apply for Utah discounted hunting, fishing, or combination license for veterans with a 20%+ service-connected disability
Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR)
Who it's for
A Utah resident with a service-connected disability of 20% or greater can buy a discounted hunting, fishing, or combination license from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. You must show verification of the disability: an official letter, statement, or card from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or a branch of the Armed Forces that says your service-connected disability rating is 20% or higher. Once you are approved and buy your first discounted veteran license, you can renew or buy it again at the discounted rate without reapplying. For questions, call the Division of Wildlife Resources at 801-538-4700.
The DWR threshold is a 20% rating. This screen groups ratings in steps (10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, 100%), so it only shows this benefit at 30% or higher; a veteran rated 20% also qualifies and should apply. You must be a Utah resident. DWR decides the application.
