How to apply for IVT ACCESS Paratransit

Imperial Valley Transit (IVT) — IVT ACCESS

Who it's for

IVT ACCESS (created 1994) is the ADA complementary paratransit service operated by Imperial Valley Transit / ICTC for riders who, because of a physical or cognitive disability, cannot use the regular fixed-route IVT bus. Eligibility is established through an application and a functional assessment administered by the transit agency. Seniors age 65+ who meet the ADA functional standard qualify. Service area mirrors the IVT fixed-route network across Imperial County (El Centro, Calexico, Brawley, Imperial, Holtville, and the west-end communities). To apply or request an application packet, call 1-760-592-4444.

ADA paratransit eligibility is a functional determination made by IVT ACCESS through an application and assessment — this check cannot make this determination for you. Age alone does not guarantee eligibility; the standard is whether a physical or cognitive disability prevents use of the fixed-route IVT bus. Apply directly with the agency.

What you'll need

  • Completed IVT ACCESS application (typically with a healthcare-provider verification of functional limitation)
  • Possibly an in-person functional assessment scheduled by IVT ACCESS
