How to apply for Community Options Program for the Elderly (COPE) in-home services
Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD)
Who it's for
COPE is a state program that gives non-medical in-home help to people 65 and older so they can keep living at home instead of moving to a nursing home. It is similar to the Medicaid Frail Elderly waiver but is not Medicaid. Services can include case management, personal care (help with bathing, dressing, toileting and eating), homemaker help (meals, light housekeeping, laundry and shopping), adult day care, adult companion services, a personal emergency response system (PERS), chore services, and respite for the main caregiver. To apply, fill out the OCL Program Application and send it to the nearest ADSD office, or call your regional ADSD office and apply by phone.
You must be at risk of moving to a nursing home without these services (meet the nursing home level of care). There is an income limit that changes each year, so call ADSD for the current amount. An ADSD case manager decides which program fits you best.
