How to apply for Merced 'The Bus' Senior Free Fare (62+) in California

Merced Transit Authority (Transit Joint Powers Authority for Merced County)

Who it's for

Merced County's public transit system, branded 'The Bus' and operated by the Merced Transit Authority, lets seniors 62 and older — plus veterans and ADA-eligible riders — ride FREE on ALL services: fixed-route buses, Paratransit, Dial-A-Ride, and The Micro Bus. This free-fare program is paid for with local Measure V funds. Seniors only need to show a government-issued ID displaying their date of birth. ADA-eligible riders can use an ADA Paratransit card or a Medicare card with a photo ID.
