METRA Transit (Senior & ADA Fares) — Muscogee County

County

METRA is the public bus system for Muscogee County (Columbus), with fixed routes plus Dial-A-Ride origin-to-destination ADA paratransit. Seniors 62+ and people with a qualifying disability ride fixed routes for $0.65 with an ID; a Medicare card with picture identification is accepted as proof. Dial-A-Ride serves riders whose disability prevents them from using the fixed route, within 3/4 of a mile of a METRA bus route and while buses are running, and requires an application. Dial-A-Ride is a flat $2.50 per one-way trip, which is more than the regular adult fare of $1.30, and METRA's reduced-fare cards are not accepted on it. Call METRA at 706-225-4581, or the Paratransit Reservation Office at 706-225-4596 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM).

$150–$1,200/yr

In this county: Reduced fixed-route fares are available to seniors 62+ and people with a qualifying disability; Dial-A-Ride paratransit eligibility is determined by application, so this shows as a may-qualify result. Note the fare direction: paratransit costs $2.50 a trip against $0.65 on a fixed route, so a senior who can manage the bus pays a quarter of the price.
