County · MissouriOATS Transit serves Shelby County. OATS Transit is a shared-ride, demand-response public transportation service covering 87 rural Missouri counties. Reservations are taken 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (next-day service must be requested by 1:00 pm). Fares are paid in advance from a rider account: add funds by credit or debit card ($10.00 minimum when adding funds by phone), or mail a personal check, money order, or cashier's check to the OATS Transit office. Drivers do not accept payment on the bus. Shelby County routes: Hannibal on the 1st Tuesday; Moberly on the 2nd Wednesday; Kirksville on the 4th Thursday; Shelbina on the 1st Friday after the 1st Thursday. Fares $2.00 in-town / $3.00 county / $4.00 adjacent county / $10.00 round trip long distance. InterCity service runs Hwys 36 & 63 to Columbia on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Monday. Pickup points: Clarence (Christian Church) and Shelbina (Jct 15 & 36 Subway lot).
