Seniors in Greene County, Pennsylvania, have access to a wide range of benefit programs that can help with health care, energy costs, prescription drugs, property taxes, and more. The Greene County Area Agency on Aging is the local starting point for many of these programs — it coordinates Title III services and offers free APPRISE Medicare counseling to help you understand your Medicare options. The Greene County Assistance Office handles LIHEAP energy assistance for residents who need help with heating costs. Because Greene County sits in Pennsylvania's southwesternmost corner, local hospital access works differently here — WHS Greene in Waynesburg serves as a critical access facility, while most acute and specialty care is reached through WVU Medicine in Morgantown, WV, or Washington Hospital to the north. County transportation programs, including rural shared-ride transit and connections to Mountain Line Transit, can help you get to appointments. State programs like PACE/PACENET, the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, and Community HealthChoices also apply here, along with dozens of federal programs. Each listing below includes its official source and the date it was last verified — the administering agency makes the final eligibility decision.
