Senior Property Tax Freeze (SB 190) — Jackson
County · MissouriJackson County has adopted Missouri's senior property tax credit (SB 190): homeowners 62 or older can freeze the real-estate tax bill on their primary home, so it stops rising in later years. Applications: Applications are accepted through the year; the page states an August 31 cutoff in one place and a December 31 cutoff in another, and says any application submitted before that date is considered for the current tax year. Confirm the current-year deadline with the Collection Department before quoting it. Jackson County Senior Property Tax Credit Program, run by the Department of Collection under RSMo 137.1050. Eligibility: Jackson County resident; 62 years of age or older; property owner or holder of a legal or equitable interest; liable for the real property taxes; occupies the property as their only primary residence. Proof required: proof of Jackson County primary residency (driver's license, voter registration card, utility bill), proof of age 62+ (government-issued ID with date of birth), and proof of interest (trust or operating agreement) if the applicant is not on the deed. Apply online, by mail, in person, or at the exterior drop boxes at the Jackson County Courthouse (415 E. 12th St. Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64106) or the Historic Truman Courthouse (112 W.
