Rogue Valley Council of Governments (RVCOG) Senior & Disability Services is the Area Agency on Aging for Jackson and Josephine counties. Its Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) helps older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers find services, including Food & Friends / Meals on Wheels, family caregiver support, behavioral health help, and information about Medicaid (Oregon Health Plan) long-term care and SNAP. ACCESS runs the Energy Assistance Program for Jackson County. Eligible households can get a one-time payment (usually once per program year) toward any type of energy bill — electric, natural gas, propane, oil or wood — and there is no need to be facing a shutoff. For the new program year, phone lines open October 1, and October 19–30, 2026 is priority scheduling for seniors and people with disabilities (scheduling opens to everyone November 2). Asante gives free care to insured and uninsured families with income under 300% of the federal poverty level, and discounted care between 300% and 400%. Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD) runs Valley Lift, a wheelchair-accessible ride service for people whose disability keeps them from using a regular RVTD bus. Pickup and drop-off must be within 3/4 mile of an RVTD bus line, on the same days and hours as the buses, and the cost is $4 per ride.
